Simply stupid!

Today a real funny incident happened, which I could just not resist myself from sharing with you all. After reading this, you will not wait for a second to bestow the title of "Simply Stupid" to none other than ME :P

Me, natty and sumi are really excited about this Coorg trip and obviously everyone has witnessed our level of excitement. We haven't booked our tickets..simply cos my salary wasn't credited into my account. Today, around 2.30pm, my phone beeps and I receive a msg from IDBI saying my salary has been credited. With sheer excitement, I withdrew my ticket fare from the ATM, reached home, sipped on some cool water melon juice and headed towards the station with a friend to book our tickets. Juggling the traffic, my friend pulled up the gear and raced his bike and we reached station sharp at 7.30 as the counter shuts at 8pm. After standing in the queue for about 15-20 mins..it was our turn to book the tickets. I opened my wallet and to my horror, realised I forgot to carry their(sumi and natty's share) money. My friend rushed to an ATM to help me out, and as he inserted his card..the machine gave up and it showed some error. Here the clock struck 8pm and the window of the counters shut; we looked at each other and couldn't stop laughing.

That moment I had mixed feelings – embarassment, anger yet stupid!! But, as one my frd rightly puts, "Tomorrow is another day" ..so I eagerly await tomorrow, not to repeat the same mistake but to stand in the queue and book our tickets.

Here we come COORG!!! :) :) :)

ITS ABOUT ME & MY FRIENDS

When Sumisha suggested me to write 25 random things about myself, I laughed my heart out. I told her, you have now confirmed my views of you being a narcissist. Today, while travelling in the train, I thought there's no harm in loving yourself and writing 25 random things that will re-assure our friends that we are a narcissist. Jokes apart, I think it’s a good exercise for us to know ourself better.

Here goes my list:
1. I am mad (completely MAD), a brat and also weird, at times. Read ahead to know more.
2. I lowwwwwwwwe watching movies.
3. I am pathetic with road directions (can't direct anyone to save their lives!!!!). Hence, my connect with my dear friend, Sumisha.
4. As Natasha rightly puts, I have strong views on certain things. (esp. food) Thanks Natty, its cos of you my views are even stronger now.
5. I have had maximum crushes till date and still maintain to have one. (Manny surely is gonna kill me)
6. I hate watching English movies in theatre. Cos I don’t get half of the dialogues :P
7. The most important person in my life is my mom (she is my lifeline and the best part is she knows about it J)
8. I luv traveling by trains and I strongly feel this way I am connected to my city. Just love the crowd and the chaos during the peak hours (I know most of you will hate me for this, before abusing me kidly read Point 1 again ;) )
9. I hate getting into the kitchen and all my friends are now tired of convincing me. They have finally come to a conclusion that “I’m useless”!!
10. I just cannot imagine my life without my building friends who are also apparently my childhood friends. Each one of them including Suresh, Sriram, Manu, Giri, Ashwin, Mitul, Arun, Raghu, Ashu, Ami, Bhavika, Renu, Deepa and Deepali who have been there through thick and thin.. Here I tell u all that I luv u guys and thanks for tolerating me for more than 20 years now.
11. Jassu is another important school friend who is very very important to me. Can’t see her sad. She has always laughed on all my silly jokes. Thanks darling. I will always be there when you need me. Also, Sobi, my only college friend. We are different like chalk and cheese yet had the time of our lives during those 5 years.
12. There are few things that I am really scared of – cockroaches (can’t stand the sight of any reptiles), driving, heights.
13. Rains and smiling faces make me happy.
14. In my childhood, I had a secret crush on Mithun Chakravorthy (still luv him though). Nobody apart from Deepa knew about it. But, now its only Hrithik and Shahrukh for me.
15. I am a compulsive shopper. (courtesy: Shoppers’ Stop Discount offers). I know Manny, you would be happy that I confessed this publicly. But that doesn’t mean I regret being a compulsive shopper. Rather, I would continue being one.
16. I love my hair, but the irony is I have bad hair days on weekdays.
17. Moving to Delhi was a deliberate decision taken due to some personal reasons. I made some real good friends like Seema, Nanda, Varu, Anky, Esha, Ishita, Kuku, Vaishali, Samy di, Richie, Hem, and many more.
18. Nanda and me always broke our PG rules, used to come late and enter the doors with our duplicate keys. (Some rules are meant to be broken.. isn’t it?)
19. I luv vodka. Though never addicted. I believe in enjoying the drink rather than the drink enjoying you!! But, I want to get sloshed once in life. But thanks to loser friends of mine, never got a chance to get high as I always ended up taking care of them.
20. I have never bought chocolates for myself. I always ask my friends to buy it for me J (as my frds say, “cheapo ur”)
21. I am confused most of the time. L
22. Most of my time post work is spent at Deepa’s house. And, Uncli “thanks for tolerating all my nonsense”.
23. Am very very very very very lazy.
24. I am prone to injuries, bruises, cuts.
25. Last but not the least, is I am a beautiful human being. I know all of u who knows me will kill me after reading this. But accept it guys, “I am the Best.”

I thank all my dear friends for being there for me and I am sure we are always there for each other and just a phone call away. LUV U ALL.

Journo speaks!!

"Wow!! I can't believe that I actually got the time to blog." Can you believe these are the words of a journalist. Just in case if you are wondering who's a journalist here..its none other than ME!! My friends and collegues always have this misconception that media is (supposedly) the coolest profession. Well, I dedicate this column to all those near and dear friends. I just have this small incident to share all of those friends.
Contributing articles, covering conferences and seminars, photoshoots and most importantly interviewing celebs have always been an integral part of our job. But the fact is "All that glitters is not gold". I remember one of our past events, where we were literally treated as celeb assistants or to put it in a sophisticated way, we played the role of a glorified attendant. From taking care of their belongings to escort them to their rooms was part of our duty. And, obviously we were not in the position to say "No" as the explanation we got was "its part of your job, and as its our event, we have to take care of these things". We can't even ignore their market value as ultimately when you have your story in place, its their quotes that add weightage to your article.
This was just a small incident that i wanted to share with you. I agree that there are lot more things against which these small incidents can be ignored. But the point is how long can you put your dignity at stake?? And, am sure not for eternity!!
